An Enduring Relationship with God with Ivy Lassiter #57

Fellow podcaster Ivy Lassiter is the host of the For Parents of Podcasts and today she shares about when she was in 7th grade. Sadly that was the time of her life when she discovered her mom was diagnosed with cancer. Ivy walks us through the journey of what it was like to walk through the grief and loss of losing a parent. Her encouragement was that God is that while our lives can be difficult God will always take care of us and that relationship will stand the test of time.

Plus, Ivy shares about the ways she and her family still remember her mom Sweet often.

I can be 800 miles away from my mom and the same God is taking care of both of us. - Ivy Lassiter

Ivy also shared about how the "For Parents Podcast" came to be and why those stories of other parents matter. Raising kids isn’t easy, but sometimes the most helpful advice can come from right next door. We all have stories that can help us fill the gaps, and to know we are not alone. It isn't about perfection but trying our best to lead and love our kids well. Listen to a few of the tangible ways to help parents in whatever season. Please enjoy this conversation with Ivy Lassiter!

Reflection Questions

  1. Journal about a time in your life when you endured. What did you learn from it?

  2. I encourage you to pray right now for whatever you need from God in this season of your life. Sometimes that simple action gets lost in our day-to-day.
